For more than 25 years, Maren Ohaks has partnered with scientific, technical, and organizational leaders to navigate complexity and bring ambitious ideas to life. Her career spans biotechnology, medical devices, technology, finance, academia, and the nonprofit sector, including leadership roles at Amgen, Washington Mutual, the University of Washington’s innovation and entrepreneurship centers, and a range of emerging companies and mission-driven organizations.

Maren is known for seeing connections across people, ideas, and systems—and translating them into strategies, partnerships, programs, and structures that create meaningful movement. She brings together a quick and discerning mind, practical experience, genuine presence, and a deeply collaborative spirit. Her work encompasses strategic planning and execution, technology commercialization, organizational development, and leadership, grounded in the belief that meaningful outcomes emerge through both rigorous thinking and human connection.

Over time, Maren’s work led her to a more expansive question: What allows people and organizations to truly flourish? That inquiry drew her beyond traditional approaches to strategy and leadership into the study and practice of neuroscience, embodiment, relationships, nature, and human development. She founded Brilliance Empowered® as a place where these worlds could come together—inviting leaders and organizations to integrate intellectual knowledge, embodied wisdom, and purposeful action as they shape what comes next.
