For more than 25 years, Maren Ohaks has partnered with scientific, technical, and organizational leaders to navigate complexity and bring ambitious ideas to life. Her career spans biotechnology, medical devices, technology, finance, academia, and the nonprofit sector, including leadership roles at Amgen, Washington Mutual, the University of Washington’s innovation and entrepreneurship centers, and a range of emerging companies and mission-driven organizations.

Maren is known for seeing connections across people, ideas, and systems—and translating them into strategies, partnerships, programs, and structures that create meaningful movement. She brings together a quick and discerning mind, practical experience, genuine presence, and a deeply collaborative spirit. Her work encompasses strategic planning and execution, technology commercialization, organizational development, and leadership, grounded in the belief that meaningful outcomes emerge through both rigorous thinking and human connection.

Over time, Maren’s work led her to a more expansive question: How do we create and sustain the conditions for people and organizations to flourish? That inquiry drew her beyond traditional approaches to strategy and leadership to explore how individuals thrive and how the relationships and systems they shape become integrated, resilient ecosystems.
